Bernie Brewer |
PROS:
Bernie has had a long history of delighting fans and has strong
political support in his home state of Wisconsin. In an election loaded with rich guys,
the blue collar Bernie may appeal to a wider audience. |
CONS:
The allegations of his drinking problems remain a thorn in his side.
The rumor is that these drinking problems caused the Milwaukee Brewers to
fire Bernie at the end of 1999. Bernie maintains that his firing was simply
a result of the Brewers looking to go in another direction. Bernie was later rehired
and the Brewers continue to dodge the issue.

Mr. Met |
PROS:
N.Y. Met has been a force on the New York political scene for years, once
providing ideas to Mayor Guiliani. Obviously, having Mr. Met on the ticket would
give Wally a chance to capture New York State's 33 electoral votes. Mr.
Met's popularity as an actor, having starred in several SportsCenter commercials,
would also benefit the ticket.
|
CONS:
Wally's bitterness about the 1986 World Series could cause problems for the two
down the road. |
Philly Phantic |
PROS:
The Phanatic brings a lot to the political table, including
the potential for Pennsylvania's 23 electoral votes.
|
CONS:
The word "Phanatic" tends to scare Conservatives. |
Pat Patriot |
PROS:
As football mascot, Pat brings diversity to the ticket. Who better than a true Patriot to
join Wally on the Presidential ticket?
|
CONS:
Pat likes to party with Ty Law. |
Stanford Tree |
PROS:
The Stanford Tree would give the ticket some much-needed clout with Environmentalists.
The Tree also has strong links to famous people outside of politics. His brother starred in
two Lord of the Rings movies and Tiger Woods is one of his best friends. California's 54
electoral votes are Wally's pot of gold.
|
CONS:
Only a college mascot, opponents might question the Tree's experience.
